Petrolia holds line on municipal taxes, water rates, fees

Petrolia Town Council has held the line on taxes, and all other fees in 2021.

There are no increases in the municipal tax rate, and sewer and water rates in the municipal budget, unanimously approved Monday night.

A zero per cent increase was also approved in next year's fee schedule.

"I am very pleased with the budget that staff have presented," said Mayor Brad Loosely in a statement. "2020 has been a year faced with challenges for many people, and now is not the time for increases to taxes, water, sewer, or fees."

Capital projects approved for 2021 include reconstruction of Greenfield Street, $25,000 in financial support for marketing and promoting the downtown, a new dump truck/snowplow, and a used truck to replace the decommissioned Support Operations Response Team (SORT) vehicle.
