Lambton County is one of many regions in Ontario that will be expanding its vaccine rollout to more pharmacies.
Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey confirmed that two additional pharmacies in Lambton County will begin offering the AstraZeneca vaccine starting the week of April 12.
In total, five pharmacies in Lambton County will now be offering the vaccine to individuals 55 and older.
"Our government is rapidly increasing vaccine availability across the province, and right here in Lambton County," said MPP Bailey in a statement. "This week two additional pharmacies in Lambton County will begin offering the vaccine to eligible individuals. The expanded pharmacy vaccine program will support the efforts of our local public health unit to get needles in arms as quickly as possible."
The participating pharmacies include Shoppers Drug Mart at 510 Exmouth Street in Sarnia; Rexall at 697 Cathcart Boulevard in Sarnia; Loblaw Pharmacy at 600 Murphy Road in Sarnia; Forest Pharmacy at 19 King Street West in Forest; and Bright's Grove Family Pharmacy at 2670 New Lakeshore Road in Bright's Grove.
On Sunday, the Ontario government announced that an additional 700 pharmacies will begin offering the AstraZeneca vaccine across the province.
The expansion will bring the total number of pharmacies offering the vaccine to over 1,400 locations, with officials saying that number will hit 1,500 by the end of April.
