Great Value chicken burgers could be costly for those allergic to eggs

Those with allergies are advised to check their freezer for Great Value chicken burgers as they may contain egg, which was not declared on the label.

Belmont Meat Products Ltd. is recalling the frozen chicken burgers, which were sold nationally. The recall was triggered by test results from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

The recalled product is specific to the 904 gram boxes with best before dates of May 1, 2022; May 27, 2022; July 6, 2022; July 12, 2022; and July 17, 2022.

Consumers who have the recalled product are advised to throw it out or return it to where it was purchased.

Anyone with an egg allergy is warned not to eat the burgers as it may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.
