The workers, including crane and heavy equipment operators, were stationed outside the Shell gates on St. Clair Parkway and at Sarens Crane on Polymoore Drive.

The workers contract expired on April 30 and over 15,000 construction workers across Ontario have been on strike since May 2, after voting to turn down the latest offer by the employer bargaining agency.

Those on strike also include members of the Labourers International Union of North America (LiUNA) Local 183.
