LPH reports drop in average COVID cases

The daily average number of COVID-19 cases locally has seen a slight drop.

Lambton Public Health reported 77 new lab confirmed cases of the virus in its weekly update Wednesday, with a daily average of 10 cases. That's down from 12 last week.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 14,538 infections and 166 related deaths in Sarnia-Lambton.

The health unit said there are three outbreaks reported in congregate living settings.

There are nine COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health.

Sarnia police look to identify theft suspect

Police said the suspect rummaged through five unlocked vehicles on July 10 and stole items such as sunglasses, cosmetics, gift cards, loose change, and a wallet that contained debit and credit cards.

Criminal charges laid in April collision

On April 21 at around 4:40 a.m., a vehicle slammed into the traffic lights at the intersection of Finch Drive and Wellington Street and rolled, landing on its roof.
