Lambton's CAO officially steps away from the role

Tuesday marks the last day for a long-time Lambton County staff member as Ron Van Horne officially retires as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

Van Horne's official last day is February 28. He announced his retirement as CAO in the fall after spending more than 30 years working for the county.

Stephane Thiffeault, who served as the deputy CAO and general manager of corporate services, has spent the past several months transitioning into the CAO role. For the time being, Thiffeault will retain the responsibilities of general manager of Corporate Services.

Update: On March 2, the county said Andrew Meyer will assume the position of deputy CAO, effective March 6, and will continue with his current role as general manager of Cultural Services.
