Free rec swimming in CK returns this summer

If you're looking for a free refreshing swim during the hot days of Summer, Chatham-Kent Recreation is offering up several options.

The municipality has announced that all seven outdoor pools and two indoor pools will be open for free recreation swimming beginning on Sunday, thanks to "generous sponsors."

Manager of Recreation Services and Community Engagement Amy Wadsworth said this initiative is part of the Summer Fest Series, which aims to provide fun and engaging activities for residents and visitors of all ages.

“Our team is excited to be able to provide free rec swims to our community,” said Wadsworth. “Swimming is a great way to stay active and cool during the summer months and we want to make sure that everyone has access to this fun and healthy activity.”

Summer pool schedules are available online at chatham-kent.ca/recreationswimming.

She noted there are still select group lessons available for the summer in addition to the recreational swimming.

A complete program guide can be found at chatham-kent.ca/recreation. Registration can be done online, by calling 311, or by visiting your local municipal centre.
