According to the provincial government, parents have a full year to register their child's birth, which is why the 2022 list is now being released. The most popular names of 2023 will become official next year.

The province reminds new parents that it's important to register their child's birth within their first 30 days.

ServiceOntario's 5-in-1 Newborn Bundle allows parents to apply online for their child's birth certificate, Social Insurance Number, Canada Child Benefits (including the Ontario Child Benefit), and Education Savings Referral service through one application.
