Police reported the collision at Indian Road and Errol Road shortly before 1 a.m. on Thursday.
A social media post on X, formerly Twitter, had asked residents to avoid the intersection for the investigation.
Police said the driver suffered minor injuries. No charges were laid.
The area was cleared shortly after 3:15 a.m.
Like many border communities, Sarnia experienced immediate shock and heightened security following the attacks on New York and Washington on September 11, 2001.
