Turning 40 years old for one local man is about more than the number and the parties.
Trevor Taylor, who is the Communications Manager at Habitat for Humanity, will be handing out 40 gifts to strangers on his birthday on Friday, August 16 instead of accepting presents for himself.
"I wanted to do something that's going to bring joy to this community and help spread a little kindness around Sarnia on my birthday," said Taylor.
He said the majority of the gifts and gift cards he has to give out were donated by local residents and businesses.
"Like $25 to Subway or Rona or something like that and then I'll turn around and go around on my birthday and give these gifts to people."

Some of the recipients were nominated by friends and family, others will be chosen at random.
"So I've got a few nominations, I think I've got about four or five people who have actually messaged me and told me a story about somebody, either a co-worker or somebody that has touched their lives in a very special way, that they want to give back," said Taylor. "And the rest are going to be totally at random. I think it's going to be fun."
Taylor hopes the gesture puts a smile on a few people's faces.
"And I'm hoping this will brighten a lot of people's day, well at least 40, and it will spread on to more people and they'll keep giving back and help people around them, for sure."
