Sarnia man arrested after IPV call

A man is facing charges after an Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) call early Sunday morning. Sarnia police were called to a residence on Afton Drive for a report of a violent male within a home.

When officers arrived, and no one answered the door, they went to the rear of the building and saw a man climbing the backyard fence and running from police.

After a foot chase, officers found the man hiding behind a nearby building, and he was arrested.

An investigation found the man and a woman had been arguing, and he had been drinking.

It's alleged the argument escalated and the man began damaging the home, punching holes in the walls while a child was present. No injuries were reported.

A 22-year-old Sarnia man was held for bail on charges of mischief under $5,000.
