Snow Squall Watch

Environment Canada has issued a snow squall watch for north and east Lambton County.

Persistent snow squalls are expected to develop.

Under the snow squall bands, visibility will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.

Snow squalls will develop in the northwesterly winds across Lake Huron overnight. The snow squalls will be the most intense along the Saugeen Shores overnight and near Wingham.

Thursday morning, snow squalls will move onshore near Goderich and Grand Bend and possibly into eastern Lambton County.

Snow squalls may penetrate as far inland as London during Thursday afternoon or Thursday night.

Local accumulations near 10 cm per 12 hours are possible and blowing snow could make travel hazardous.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. If you must travel, keep others informed of your schedule and destination and carry an emergency kit and mobile phone.
