Two taken to hospital for suspected fentanyl overdoses

Two people were rushed to hospital in Sarnia early Monday morning for suspected fentanyl overdoses.

City police and Lambton EMS were called to a residence on Queen Street, near Wellington Street, at around 5 a.m.

Police say a 33-year-old man was having difficulty breathing, his skin was dark grey and his lips were blue.

Officers administered Narcan and police say he responded positively before being taken to Bluewater Health.

Police say a 24-year-old woman, also at the residence, began showing signs of a fentanyl overdose and was also taken to hospital as a precaution.

The current medical status of the two is unknown.

Sarnia police remind residents that naloxone kits are available at area pharmacies and Lambton Public Health.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
