Snacks for Summer has reached its $10,000 fundraising target, after a generous donation from Noelle's Gift.
The program was launched last summer by three sisters, Paige, Abby and Sydney Vrolyk, to help local youth in need.
The teens are raising funds towards snack packs to distribute through St. Vincent de Paul food bank.
Co-founder of Noelle's Gift, Nicole Paquette said they were happy to match the girls fundraising efforts up to $5,000 for the next three years.
"Once the girls approached us, they came to our committee meeting and they blew us out of the water, they were amazing," said Paquette. "They presented Snacks for Summer to us and it was a no brainer for us."
Paige Vrolyk said this year they expanded the program to include hygiene products as well.
"It's been extremely busy," she said. The need for food in this community is so big. This year especially we've noticed such a huge amount of kids coming to St. Vincent de Paul."
The Snacks for Summer program continues until the end of August.
Donations can be dropped off at Harbour Bay Clothing and Gifts at 214 Front St. N.
