The winners of the Lambton Film and Food Festival youth shorts competition were formally recognized during a socially distanced ceremony earlier this week.
The seven award recipients each took home a trophy and a cheque for $400.
Organizers said this was a record year for the number of submissions, which bodes well for the local student talent working in isolation.
Nearly 40 films entered this year were judged during a virtual ceremony on May 22. Many focused on societal issues like coping with the pandemic, climate change, social acceptance, and teen suicide.
Six of the winners are students in the St. Patrick's Communications Technology program.
