North Lambton Secondary School temporarily closes

The Lambton Kent District School (LKDSB) has announced that North Lambton Secondary School will be closed for the week of March 15-19 due to staffing challenges.

Lambton Public Health has notified the board that there are active cases of COVID-19 at the school. Lambton Public Health is currently in the process of reaching out to affected school community members (both students and staff) that may have come in contact with the virus.

With the number of people currently being assessed, the school board does not anticipate the school will have enough staff members to continue in-person programming at North Lambton Secondary School. The school will be closed from Monday, March 15 until Friday March 19, with students returning to remote learning. LKDSB said it expects the school will reopen on Monday, March 22.

The school board said it made the decision after careful consideration as it wants to ensure the school can be safely staffed.

Families will be notified about when the school plans to reopen. Meanwhile, teachers will reach out to students using typical means of communication for remote learning.
