Marcin Bowl in Point Edward is set to reopen in May, under new ownership.
After shutting down this past September, the 36 lane bowling alley has been purchased by the owners of Hi-Way Bowl.
Manager Jeff Wickens, whose mom Shirley owns Hi-Way Bowl, is excited.
"The owners of Marcin Bowl are happy that it's going to stay a bowling alley and they're going to help us make sure that it's a success. I'm very happy about that. We've had quite a few of the bowlers give us their two cents too. They're very happy that bowling in Point Edward will still be around."
Wickens said it will be nice to once again have a five pin bowling option locally.
"We get all sorts of calls about five pin and, obviously, at Hi-Way Bowl we only have ten pin," he said. "We are a lot smaller of a place than Marcin. I'm excited to get in there, get to work and get people back bowling. The former owners have put a ton of money into that place, it looks awesome in there. We're going to go in and make sure the coolers and kitchen and everything is working and we're going to open."
The purchase price was not disclosed.
Hi-Way Bowl on London Line will remain open, and Wickens is confident there will be enough demand to maintain both facilities.
"With just Hi-Way Bowl, we're just slammed all of the time," he said. "A lot of people come in and they can't bowl because we're booked up. So, having two locations will give everyone the chance to get out and bowl with the family, it's great."
