The Lambton Attack U18A women's hockey team captured a Silver Stick Championship in front of a raucous Sarnia crowd over the weekend.
The ladies took down the Owen Sound Ice Hawks 4-0 in the championship game from Clearwater Arena Sunday afternoon.
Head Coach Don Hudson said the team won five straight games after a slow start.
"The girls didn't start out so well in the beginning, just like Team Canada's World Junior Team, and then rallied back [and] won every game after that," he said. "They got more and more prepared for every game that they went into. So they got better and better as the tournament went on, which is exactly what you want."
Hudson said at least a few hundred people were in the stands, making it the biggest crowd the ladies have played in front of this season.

"The arena was packed. It was good for the girls, the support was fantastic [and] I'm sure it was intimidating for the other team, for sure."
Hudson gave a shout out to the team's trainer, Marcia Stinson, following their big win.
"She really rallies the girls for me. I don't have to do a whole lot except for coach, which is pretty handy."
It was the first Silver Stick tournament for the ladies since 2019. Hudson said it was nice to get back to business after the tournament was shuttered during the pandemic.
"This area takes Silver Stick pretty seriously, and they missed not being able to go and be able to compete for an international championship, and yeah, they were pretty happy to get out there."
Hudson said the next step is to make it to provincials in Toronto and hopefully bring home another medal.
