Paddy Flaherty's Irish Pub will expand its outdoor operations this summer.
Sarnia council unanimously approved the restaurant's request on Monday, to operate a food truck at the Seaway Road site.
Owner Scott Dargie said it will be parked on the city owned portion of the front lawn, in front of the restaurant.
He said it will only operate during the busiest times of the year, from June to September, mostly when there are events at Centennial Park.
Councillor Anne Marie Gillis said it gives people another opportunity to enjoy Sarnia's waterfront.
"I think this is extremely timely, particularly coming off of the pandemic, because we still have many people who are very, very, cautious about going inside, but they want to be out and about," said Gillis.
The food truck will offer select items off of the existing menu.
