Sarnia man facing 11 charges following violent hit-and-run

A Sarnia man facing 11 charges in connection with a violent incident this summer at a homeless encampment, will be back in court later this month.

On July 31, Sarnia police were called to an altercation at a park in the city's south end during the early morning hours.

It's alleged a motorist struck a person while attempting to flee the scene. The suspect was located a short distance away and arrested.

Court documents say Kevin Burrage, 62, is accused of striking a pedestrian and attempting to mow down several others.

Charges include assault with a vehicle, failing to stop at a collision, mischief, causing a disturbance, and impaired driving.

He was released on conditional bail and is scheduled to be back in court on August 30.
