Bridgeview Marina boat fire still under investigation

Damage is estimated at around $30,000 in a fire Saturday night at Bridgeview Marina.

Point Edward Fire and Rescue crews responded to a blaze at the marina at around 11:15 p.m., and arrived to find a 42 foot motorboat fully consumed in flames and thick black smoke.

Officials said the fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature, and the official cause is still under investigation.

The boat owners were treated on scene by Lambton EMS for minor injuries.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
