Sting sign young prospect to scholarship, development agreement

The Sarnia Sting have signed one of their young prospects to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

Forward Dylan Luecke, 16, was selected by the Sting in the 12th round, 237th overall, in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection. He signed on with the Sting this week.

The 5’11”, 150 pound native of St. Louis, Missouri spent the 2022-23 season with the St. Louis AAA Blues 15U AAA team, where he recorded five goals and six assists in 12 regular season games, and one goal in four postseason games.

Luecke also spent some time with the Fort Zumwalt North Panthers last season, where he racked up 21 points in 11 regular season games played, and three points in two playoff games.

In a media release, Sting general manager Dylan Seca said Luecke is a skilled winger who is just scratching the surface with his overall development.

"He's a young prospect that has the tools to be an effective player in our league," said Seca, "We're excited to work with Dylan and the Luecke family. He will continue his development with the Oakland Jr Grizzlies U16 in Michigan this winter. We will see Dylan in a Sting uniform at some point soon."
