Two popular Canadians, with many titles, will be in Sarnia and Point Edward this fall to promote their latest novels.
The Book Keeper has organized several upcoming events, which include book signings with Col. Chris Hadfield and Rick Mercer.
Hadfield will be at DeGroot's Nurseries on Saturday, October 28 to promote his latest thriller, The Defector. The book signing will begin at 2 p.m.
"In order to get into this event, you need to buy a copy of the book from the Book Keeper," said Owner Susan Chamberlain. "One thing to note is it's books only, nothing else will be signed and we strictly enforce that."
Copies of the thriller can be reserved online or by calling the store. The books are numbered and will signify the order in which books are signed during the event.
Chamberlain said about 200 copies have been sold so far but hundreds more are available.
"This will be our fourth book signing with Chris Hadfield so we have our organization down to a science," said Chamberlain.
"He's just so spectacular and so top-notch, it's such a great experience for everybody that shows up."
For those who would like a signed copy but are unable to attend the event, Chamberlain encouraged them to contact The Book Keeper to make arrangements.
On November 5, Mercer will be held at Four Points by Sheraton, formerly the Sunbridge Inn & Conference Centre in Point Edward.
The television personality and comedian will speak about his new book, The Road Years A Memoir, Continued. Tickets are $45 each and include a copy of the book.
Chamberlain said The Road Years is a second volume of his memoir and picks up when he started the Rick Mercer Report. Prior to the book signing portion of the event, Mercer will participate in a discussion about the book, where he will be the interviewee.
