Billboards put up to generate tips in Kettle & Stony Point homicide

Two new billboards will be installed on the third anniversary of a homicide investigation at Kettle and Stony Point First Nation.

The Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation are erecting the displays in an effort to generate new tips in the murder of 29-year-old David Jordan Oliver.

Oliver’s body was found nearly three years ago by police, near 9356 Army Camp Rd. in Lambton Shores, following an extensive search on August 2, 2020.

A post-mortem determined Oliver was the victim of a homicide and an investigation was launched.

The OPP's Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and the Anishinabek Police Service (APS) have conducted an extensive investigation and followed up on a number of tips, but no suspects have been arrested to date.

The billboards will be erected at the APS detachment at Kettle Point First Nation and at the corner of Lakeshore Road and Highway 21.

The Ontario government continues to offer a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for Oliver's death.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators on a dedicated, toll-free tip line at 1-833-525-8477.

You can also call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122, or if you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
