Over a dozen charges have been laid after Lambton OPP arrested a 22-year-old man from Scarborough in connection to a drug trafficking investigation.
Members of the Community Street Crimes Unit arrested the accused on Wednesday during a traffic stop on Cameron Street in St. Clair Township.
Police said he was ordered to follow conditions from a previous drug trafficking charge.
During a search, officers seized suspected fentanyl, cocaine, hydromorphone, and a loaded prohibited firearm.
The accused was identified by OPP as Elijah Francique. He's facing the following charges:
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (two counts)
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance
- Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
- Careless storage of a firearm (three counts)
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited weapon
- Failure to comply with a release order

Charges against the accused have not been proven in court. Francique was held in custody following a bail hearing on Thursday.
