An 18 year-old Sarnia man was arrested after a single vehicle roll over early Sunday morning.
Sarnia police were called to the area of Christina Street and Clifford Street around 4 a.m.
The driver allegedly fled on foot shortly after the crash and multiple officers were on the scene to contain the area where they believed the suspect was.
Police used an unmanned aerial unit (UAV) and an OPP K9 unit to locate the suspect.
The accused was later found, arrested and then transported to the Sarnia police station at 6:43 a.m.
Police said it was found that the white vehicle that the driver was using was reported stolen from Pontiac Court that evening.
"The accused had turned the stolen vehicle southbound on Brock Street, despite Brock Street being a one way street for northbound traffic. The vehicle continued in the wrong direction on Brock Street travelling at a high rate of speed," Sarnia police said in a news release.
It also said that the drive sideswiped a northbound vehicle causing damage to the drivers side mirror of the other vehicle.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported during that collision.
Shortly after the first crash the suspect continued to use the vehicle down Christina Street where he lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle then left the roadway and struck a concrete road block in front of Imperial Oil causing the vehicle to rollover.
The driver is facing theft and careless operation charges and will appear in court on April 3.
