Sting road trip off to bumpy start with 6-2 loss to North Bay

The Sarnia Sting (23-31-3-1) lost game one of their northern road trip Thursday night as the Battalion avenged last Sunday's defeat in Sarnia with a 6-2 win.

The victory was North Bay’s (31-19-6-2) first against Sarnia since a 3-2 win on December 1, 2017.

Easton Wainwright and Lukas Fischer both scored for the Sting.

Sarnia falls four points behind the Flint Firebirds, who defeated Windsor Thursday night 5-4, for the eighth and final playoff spot in the OHL Western Conference.

Sarnia's northern road trip continues Friday night in Sudbury. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m. The Sting travel to Sault Ste. Marie on Sunday.

Sting acquire physical forward

The OHL club has acquired 19-year-old forward Parker Holmes from the Brantford Bulldogs in exchange for 3rd and 6th round draft picks in 2028.
