Time to toss household hazardous waste

The first Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection event of 2024 will be held this weekend on March 23, just in time for spring cleaning.

The county and Clean Harbors Canada Inc. hosts several collection events per year so residents can safely dispose of hazardous materials such as pesticides, pool chemicals, paints, and oven cleaners.

Items like tires, fireworks, and electronics will not be accepted.

A full list of acceptable items can be found on the county's website.

The HHW event will be held at the Clean Harbors site at 4090 Telfer Rd. in St. Clair Township from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The next drop-off events will be held on April 27, May 25, June 22, September 21, and October 26.
