Lambton libraries recall eclipse glasses

Lambton County Library is reaching out to patrons who picked up a pair of eclipse glasses early.

The library has issued an urgent notice that the supplier said the original order of glasses may be defective, and may not provide the protection you need.

If you picked up a pair before Monday, you're asked to return them.

On Sunday, Lambton County Library ensured that all locations now have the new ISO approved glasses, however, supply is limited.

"Please give the location where you grabbed your glasses a quick call to see if they still have any available for exchange," the notice read. "Your safety is our top priority!"

Lambton Public Health said without proper eye protection during a solar eclipse, even looking at the sun for a small amount of time you could experience things like retinal burns, blurred vision, temporary vision loss or even permanent eye sight loss.
