Petrolia man charged in weekend crash

A 21-year-old Petrolia man faces charges after a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Mandaumin Road and Lasalle Line in St. Clair Township.

Lambton OPP, EMS, and St. Clair Township fire crews responded just after 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 12.

Both drivers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and one had to be extricated from their vehicle.

Police suspected one of the drivers had consumed alcohol, and demanded a roadside test.

He's facing charges of failure or refusal to comply with demand, and failing to yield to traffic on a through highway. He was released and is scheduled to appear in Sarnia court on June 4.

The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for seven days, and the driver's licence was suspended for 90 days.
