Driver caught travelling close to 180 km/h on Highway 402

A 26-year-old from Sarnia has been charged with stunt driving after police stopped a vehicle travelling 178 kilometres per hour (km/h) in a 110 km/h zone.

Lambton OPP were conducting radar enforcement on Highway 402 in Warwick Township, just after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, when the vehicle was clocked at a high speed.

Police said the accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice.

The driver was issued a 30-day drivers licence suspension and the motor vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
