Upgrades planned at Petrolia Cenotaph

Petrolia council has endorsed a plan to upgrade the town's Cenotaph.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 216 is planning to add two monuments to the enclosure of the Cenotaph to honour peacekeepers and the War in Afghanistan.

As it stands, the cenotaph honours World War I, World War II and the Korean War on its pedestal.

Town council agreed to prepare the space to place the new stones at its recent meeting.

St. Clair Township council approved similar upgrades to the Brigden Cenotaph earlier this year.
