Car enthusiasts are being invited to bring their cars to Waterfront Park in Point Edward this summer.
The inaugural Vintage in the Village kicks off on Friday, May 31.
The car show, which will feature a collection of restored and classic cars, will be held on the last Friday of the month from now until August.
Village of Point Edward Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Jim Burns said the event is a partnership between the village and the Sarnia Street Cruisers.
"We'll be partnering with local charitable organizations to support them, do a little fundraising but really it's an opportunity for the public to get out and visit old friends and maybe make some new ones and learn a little bit about some of these vintage cars that people have worked on over the years," said Burns.
It's believed that there could be between 100 to 150 cars.
Burns said there will also be some music at the show.
"The first time we're going to have a DJ playing music in the background, but for the next three months in June, July and August we'll have live entertainment," he said. "We figure there will be some who will listen to the music, some will come to see the cars, some will come to support the charities we're working with," Burns said.
The show is free but there will be a 50/50 raffle to support the Inn of the Good Shepherd.
Non-perishable items will also be accepted.
Everyone is welcome to bring their cars. Owners are asked to come through the service road entrance off Michigan Avenue.
Burns said even though it's called Vintage in the Village the cars don't have to be vintage.
"It could be a newer car that someone has taken a lot of time and has a lot of pride in and would like to show off, it doesn't have to be an old car to come to the show," he said.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the show is until 8 p.m.
If successful, Burns said the hope would be to have the show annually.
