The owner and operator of Vision Nursing Home, Vision Rest Home, and The Wellington Flats is celebrating its golden anniversary on Saturday.
Vision '74 has planned a community celebration to mark 50 years of service.
"We are honoured to have served the Sarnia-Lambton community in this way and look forward to a bright future," said Board President Nell Vrolyk. "We are pleased to have a dedicated caring staff to support our diverse elderly and vulnerable population. Vision has been a forward thinking 'family' focusing on innovation and the needs of our community."
The celebration will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Brock Street parking lot, with live music and a balloon artist on site.
The company was formed in 1974 by a group of men who were seeking a means to support Christian education in Sarnia-Lambton.
The group had Vision incorporated as a not-for-profit charity that year and obtained its first licence for a nursing home for 60 residents.
Since then, a rest home was added and two additions were made to the nursing home.
Vision '74 said the home now houses and cares for 218 residents and employs 325 people.
