Sting game day team recognized by OHL

The Sarnia Sting's game day crew is getting some well-deserved recognition from the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for all of their hard work.

The team was presented with the OHL's Franchise Development Award for 2023-24 during the league's summer business meetings in Point Edward.

Despite a .397 winning percentage in a rebuilding year for the club, the Sting saw attendance climb 19 per cent during the regular season.

The Progressive Auto Sales Arena was at an average of 98.1 per cent capacity across the Sting's 34 home contests.

The league said the Sting excelled in the area of sponsorship, placing seventh OHL-wide, and treated fans to an engaging game night experience.

The OHL Franchise Development Award was presented to Sting Vice President of Business Operations Jake Bourrie and his team by OHL Director of Business Operations Matt Gergely.
