Bright's Grove Music Fest to support Inn of the Good Shepherd

A number of local musicians and bands will be in Bright's Grove this weekend for the sixth annual Bright's Grove Music Fest at Kenwick Park.

There will be 10 bands, food and craft vendors, and a kids area.

Organizer James Snider said there will be five bands on Friday and five bands on Saturday.

"There's going to be something for everybody. We have a big variety of genres," he said.

On Friday, there will be performances by Lithium Sunset, Travis Laur Band, Hot Tub Hippies, Retrospect, and Rumblefish.

On Saturday, Acoustic DJ, Brenda's Band, The Action Figures, Chain Reaction, and Johnny Five will perform.

Snider said this is an all local event.

"All of our bands and our acts come from the Lambton County area, all of our service providers, our food, our craft vendors, our caterers. Everything and anything that we can we keep within the local community," he said.

Snider said the event helps raise money for local charities.

"Five years running and we just did a tally recently and we're just over $41,000 for all local charities," he said.

This year money raised will go towards the Inn of the Good Shepherd.

Gates open at 3:30 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday with the music on until 11:30 p.m.

Admission is $10 at the gate but children 12-years-old and under are free.
