UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm watch and rainfall warning ended

A severe thunderstorm watch and rainfall warning for Sarnia-Lambton have both ended.

The advisories were posted early Tuesday morning as conditions were favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

Environment Canada said rainfall warnings are issued when 50 millimetres or more of rain is expected within one hour.

Torrential rains and thunderstorms tracked across the region Tuesday morning resulting in flooded roads, including a section of Highway 402.

There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms again Tuesday night and Wednesday.
