Over 60 businesses will participate in the fourth annual Big Squeeze competition in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sarnia-Lambton.
Businesses across Sarnia-Lambton will create lemonade to try and win the Lemon Trophy.
Executive Director Kaylen Burgess said there is also something new this year.
"What we're doing differently is we have different winners for best lemonade because it's really hard to decipher when you have different groups," she said. "So, there's a best downtown lemonade, a best county lemonade."
There will also be a community passport because the organization found many people were hitting up different lemonade stands.
The competition launched in 2019 with 22 local businesses participating and raised $6,700 for the organization.
Burgess said so far this year there are 63 businesses signed up.
"It's been pretty cool to watch the growth of the event over the last couple of years," she said. "Last year, we had close to 60 (businesses) and raised $28,000 in four hours in just lemonade donations in the community".
The money raised through The Big Squeeze will go towards the mentoring program.
Burgess said this year the organization is putting a big focus on the one-to-one initiative.
"Our waitlist is so high for that program, for the one-to-one, we're currently sitting at 60 kids waiting so we're doing a big push for volunteer recruitment, training," she said.
The Big Squeeze is set for Wednesday, August 7 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. rain or shine.
"It's just a fun day that we get to go out and interact with the community that supports us," said Burgess.
