A recent lemonade contest involving 62 local businesses has raised $31,099 for youth mentoring programs in Sarnia-Lambton.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sarnia-Lambton hosted its fourth annual "BIG Squeeze" competition on August 7.
Fundraising totals and challenge winners were announced on Facebook on Monday, August 12.
The amount raised this year surpassed last year's fundraising total of $28,000.
"Sarnia and Lambton County, we truly have no words BIG enough to thank you for coming our by the hundreds last week to support The BIG Squeeze 2024! It was such a fun day," read the Facebook post from Big Brothers Big Sisters.
This year's competition included more categories, such as best downtown lemonade and best county lemonade.
The best lemonade title was awarded to LamSar Inc., Navelli's European Delicatessen, Black Gold Brewery (non-alcoholic), Ravell Insurance Inc. and Bluewater Foodland.
Best overall was given to Norton Hairstyling, Fairwinds Lodge Retirement Residence, Wyoming Legion, and Riverside Print and Signs.
The Wyoming Legion won the title of most money raised at $2,000.
The best stand went to Lambton OPP, the most creative lemonade was awarded to Liv Life Painted Boutique and Moon & Co Beauty Clinic, and the best theme went to Great Lakes Law.
