Inaugural Stuff the Studio big success

The first-ever 'Stuff the Studio' event raised over $2,400 and a large amount of school supplies for local students.

Area residents dropped off backpacks, lunch bags, pens, pencils and cash at the London Road radio station in Sarnia on Wednesday, August 14.

School snacks totaling 250 pounds and over 600 pounds in school supplies were donated to the Inn of the Good Shepherd.

The initiative was held in partnership between Blackburn Media, Lambton College, and the Inn to support families who face financial barriers ahead of back-to-school season.

COOL 106.3 morning announcer Ben Maddigan spearheaded the event.

""It was amazing to see the support for the first Stuff The Studio," said Maddigan. "It was great to see the community come together, and I want to sincerely thank everyone who made this a big success. We were hoping to make this an annual event, and I think it's safe to say Stuff The Studio will be back next year."

The Inn is still adding up the final tally of online donations made through its website.
