BWHF Dream Home marks 30 years with largest ever prize board

Tickets for this year's Bluewater Health Foundation Dream Home Lottery went on sale Thursday morning.

The home this year, built by Forbroad Custom Homes, is at 6923 Shoreside Drive in Plympton-Wyoming.

The annual lottery fundraiser is marking 30 years and Foundation Executive Director Kathy Alexander said they went all out for the anniversary.

"Biggest cash prize in our history," said Alexander. "$1 million cash prize and the home itself fully furnished is valued at over $1.5 million. This year's prize board is also our biggest in our history at over $2.1 million, over 11,000 prizes are going to be given away."

Alexander said all of the money raised is directly invested into priority projects at Bluewater Health.

"One of the big projects this year is the redevelopment of the emergency department at CEEH, Bluewater Health in Petrolia and we love working with our sister foundation out there," said Alexander. "There are always ongoing priority projects. We are currently also wrapping up our cancer care redevelopment project, we're getting quite close to that goal and also our sexual assault domestic violence program. So those are just a few of the main priorities we're working on and there's many more to come."

Alexander said the always popular 50/50 draw is back again this year with a guaranteed payout of at least $150,000, and they've added a new cash calendar with daily draws in March and April featuring the chance to win cash or a dream vacation.

"There's so many great prizes, so many great offerings and it really is a win-win for the winners, but ultimately the winner is Bluewater Health and we couldn't be more thankful to those who buy tickets," she said.

The grand prize home will open for public viewing next month following a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, October 4.

Tickets are available by phone at 1-844-667-3251 or through the foundation's website with the grand prize draw set for February 20.

Over the last 29 years, the Dream Home Lottery has raised over $10 million for Sarnia-Lambton’s community hospital.
