If you're visiting the Grand Bend area this weekend, the municipality has a number of temporary detours and road closures in place.
In a social media post Friday morning, the Municipality of Lambton Shores said visitors to the Lake Huron community will still have access to Main Street and the beach.
The traffic calming measures are in response to an unsanctioned car rally.
OPP Constable Randi Crawford said there will also be an increased number of OPP and MTO officers in the community looking for stunt drivers and illegally modified vehicles.
"So if you suspect your vehicle might not fall within the parameters, please don't come to Grand Bend this weekend," said Crawford in a video posted to social media. "We are going to be out in full force and we're going to be enforcing these rules because we want everyone to be safe."
Crawford said it's part of the Drive Smart, Keep it Safe Campaign.
"We are going to be having things like RIDE programs and we're going to have specially trained officers doing inspections on illegally modified vehicles," she said.
Drivers caught stunt driving or operating an illegally modified vehicle can face substantial fines, demerit points or even vehicle impoundment.
