Youth arrested after threat investigation in Lambton Shores

A 12-year-old is among three people charged after the OPP were called to a Lambton Shores residence for a threats complaint.

Officers responded to the home on September 16 at around 4:20 p.m.

As a result of the investigation, police said the youth was arrested on October 2 and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The accused, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Two adults, both from Lambton Shores, were each charged with careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and obstructing a peace officer.

They were also released with future court appearances.

Police said all names and ages have been withheld in an effort to protect the youth's identity.

No further details will be released in accordance with the YCJA.
