Two members of the Sarnia Sting are among 41 players from across the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) set to compete in next month's World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Sarnia.

Sting rookies Beckham Edwards and Alessandro Di Iorio will suit up for Canada White and Canada Red respectively.

Edwards, who was selected by the Sting in the third round of the 2024 OHL draft, has five goals and an assist through six games.

Di Iorio, taken second overall in 2024, has been held pointless through his first six contests.

In all, there are 19 players from the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), 15 from the Western Hockey League (WHL), and seven from the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

Finland, Sweden, Czechia and the U.S. will also be represented.

The event is scheduled for November 3 to 9 at Progressive Auto Sales Arena, with exhibition games on November 1 and 2 in Petrolia, Lambton Shores and Sarnia.

The experience will also include a FanFest, featuring games, activities, trophies, and hall of fame displays.

Ticket sales were expanded earlier this week, and prices range from $210 to $265 for adults, and from $140 to $175 for kids.

The tournament is expected to generate between four and five million dollars for the local economy, and it's one of Tourism Sarnia-Lambton's largest events in the past ten years.
