The pace of construction activity in Sarnia remains steady, but October's numbers were boosted by a significant planned renovation.
Last month, 33 permits were issued at Sarnia City Hall, up slightly from 30 in September.
However, October's value was just over $10 million, compared to around $3.7 million the month before.
The year to date total is now at around $130.89 million.
About $7.5 million is being spent on an industrial renovation at 333 St. Andrew St., home of the Sarnia Water Pollution Control Centre (WPCC).
Upgrades in the two phase project include a new single storey control room, new conveyors and pollution control equipment, and a new truck loading ramp as well as new mixing and transfer pumps in the pumping galleries.
A total of $800,000 was earmarked for construction of a new residence at 2003 Strathuron Avenue in Bright's Grove.
Just one permit was issued for a single family home, bringing the year-to-date total to 17.
That's down from 26 during the same timeframe last year.
