Sting win third in a row, 3-2 over Kitchener

The Sarnia Sting snapped the visiting Kitchener Rangers seven game winning streak Wednesday night with a 3-2 win.

Reigning OHL Rookie of the Week Liam Beamish tied the game in the third period for the Sting with his fifth goal of the season.

Easton Wainwright scored the game winning goal for Sarnia with 4:30 remaining in the third period, completing a comeback from a 2-0 deficit.

"Our confidence is growing," said Wainwright. "We're trying to go in the break on a high and even throughout this week of practices we've been battling hard trying to get everybody better and the result showed today with the win."

Jack Pridham and Tent Swick both scored for the Rangers.

Sting netminder Nick Surzycia made 22 saves in the win, as Sarnia improved to 11-17-2-5.

The Sarnia Sting travel to London Friday night in the Battle of the 402. You can catch the game live on CHOK (103.9FM/1070AM) beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m.
