Plympton-Wyoming names next fire chief

Plympton-Wyoming Fire will start the new year with a new fire chief.

Will Davidson will officially begin his role as the town's permanent director of emergency services and fire chief on January 1, 2025.

He has been acting as fire chief since August when it was announced Erik Campbell was no longer employed by the town.

Davidson has 27 years of experience in fire services, with 22 of those as a firefighter with Plympton-Wyoming Fire.

He said he is proud to serve the members of the community.

"My family has deep roots here and it is certainly nice to be doing what I love in my own community. I look forward to continuing to work with our dedicated firefighters who are committed to providing the best level of service possible," Davidson said.

Mayor Gary Atkinson congratulated Davidson on the appointment.

"He has a wide range of experience in the field, extensive service in fire prevention and proven leadership skills at the management level. We look forward to advancing the safety of our community under Chief Davidson's leadership," he said.
