Value of Sarnia building permits exceeds 2023

Sarnia City Hall issued a total of 22 building permits in December, worth $1,377,600.

The largest was for $550,000 for a residential development on Cottage Lane.

A $100,000 permit was also issued for a new industrial building on Gladwish Drive.

In 2024, a total of 429 permits were issued, and 329 residential units were created, for a total construction value of $168,127,644.

That's 30 fewer permits than in 2023, but well ahead of the $126,412,486 construction value.

The 2024 numbers were boosted by $66,245,962 in institutional permits to create 130 residential units.
