Sarnia man arrested in Devine Street disturbance

Residents in the Devine Street area called police after being awoken by loud noises early Friday morning.

Sarnia police were notified of a disturbance at around 12:30 a.m. Neighbours reported a male pedestrian punching parked cars in the area.

When officers arrived, the man who appeared intoxicated, was found slumped over the ground with minor injuries to his hand consistent with punching something.

Police said a small amount of damage was also spotted on a nearby vehicle.

The man declined medical assistance and was placed under arrest.

During a search, officers found a concealed expandable baton in his waistband.

The 24-year-old Sarnia man is charged with carrying a concealed weapon and breach of probation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
