Items are still being collected ahead of the fifth annual clothing swap, organized by Reilly Stead and Rebecca Murray of Coldwell Banker Southwest Realty, in support of St. Joseph's Hospice.
Stead said the event will be held on February 7 at their downtown office, at 169 Christina St. N., from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
"It's $25 at the door which will get you 10 items," Stead said. "It'll be set up like a store so you can literally just go around and shop. Everything will be hung up and organized."
Stead said the hospice was chosen as this year's funding recipient as it's an organization that's close to her heart.
"It's just a fantastic place. I know that they do the majority of their own fundraising to do what they do," Stead said. "We like to switch it up every year, so it just seemed like the right place to put the money this year."
Stead said the fundraiser will also include live music by Jay Allan, a 50/50 draw, a pop-up bar provided by Shale Ridge Ciders, charcuterie by Honey Combs Charcuterie, and permanent jewelry provided by Meld Jewelry.
Meanwhile, gently-used clothes for the event can be dropped off at the hospice between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. until February 6.
Items can also be dropped off at the brokerage's downtown or uptown location (Exmouth Street) Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Murray said they'll accept an array of items.
"This year we've had a lot of requests for maternity clothes as well so we'd like to see some of that come in," Murray said. "Clothes, shoes, accessories, backpacks... things like that would be accepted."
Some donated items will also be given to The Haven Youth Shelter, The Inn of the Good Shepherd, and Mission Thrift Store Sarnia, which will benefit the Women's Interval Home.
"We invited local charities specifically to come fill their needs first," said Murray.
Stead said last year's event, held in support of the Inn of the Good Shepherd, saw roughly 15 to 20 volunteers and around 150 shoppers.
